Ephraim and Manti

Whew! What a weekend! I wanted to update our blog sooner about a great event we attended, but things on the campaign trail seem to been non-stop (which is great!)

On Saturday our campaign had the opportunity to head down to beautiful Sanpete County, and walk door-to-door in Ephraim and Manti talking with voters. We had a great response! Despite the non-stop rain, we had a fantastic turn-out of volunteers (many thanks to the Snow College Democrats and the Sanpete County Democrats!) and voters were eagar to talk about their concerns with us. We left tired (and wet!), but invigorated and determined.

Our campaign loves spending time out in the district, it gives us energy and reminds us who we are working for- you and your neighbors. If you'd like to see us in your neighborhood please let us know by sending us an email at bennionspencerforcongress@comcast.net

On to victory on November 4th!

GOP leader endorses Bennion Spencer

From the Daily Herald:

"Dean Hawker isn't your average Republican.

He's been in the party for nearly 50 years, including a decade on the Republican State Central Committee and another decade as GOP chairman of legislative District 61.

But Hawker says he's had enough of how his party operates and will be endorsing Democrat Bennion Spencer today over Republican Jason Chaffetz for the 3rd District U.S. House seat.

He said he's "found that he is a very articulate, conservative, pro-life Democrat."

Today, he will hold a news conference to outline exactly why he's switching sides in this election cycle.

"To me, it's not a pretty picture," he said of a party he views as ethically corrupt.

Spencer tacked right in his response to the Hawker endorsement:

"Dean understands that the issues that face America today are not Republican or Democratic, but rather American issues that we can only solve by working together. Our country faces an uphill climb in the coming years. As conservatives, we have an obligation to work together to come up with the right solutions for our families. Our core conservative principles is what will get us through these challenging economic times."

Saturday was another beautiful day in the 3rd Congressional District! Our campaign was hard at work all morning going door to door talking to residents. It was encouraging and reminded our team why we do what we do and. Citizens are concerned about the direction the country is going- from the economic crisis personally affecting their pocketbooks to illegal immigration and education. We're listening and we're working for you.

We hope you'll consider voting for Bennion Spencer for Congress on November 4th. Please remember to register to vote.
On to victory!

Our team wanted to thank all the residents of the 3rd District for the opportunity to talk with you, and for sharing with us your hopes for you community. We're drawing energy and continuing to garner support, but we're not done yet.
